Designer Showcase House

The transformation of the historic, 12-room Addis-Walter House, located at
44 East Washington in downtown Clarkston will be unveiled September 23
and open for viewing through October 2 during the 2011 Designer
Showcase House benefiting Clarkston SCAMP, a five-week summer
camp for special needs children and adults.

An Opening Night Benefit kicks things off from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
on September 23.  The event will include a strolling gourmet dinner,
silent auction, and a chance to meet each designer one-on-one.
The home will then be open to tour from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
weekdays and from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on weekends
through October 2.

The entire home, including decks and porches, will be redecorated for
the project. "Each design company is donating their time and most of the
materials in order to benefit Clarkston SCAMP, and also to highlight the
talents of the local design community here in Clarkston," said Kevin Harrison of
KH Home and the project's chairman.  "To my knowledge, there isn't a design event
like this in the Metro Detroit area north of Birmingham, and we have plenty of talented
designers out here!"

Participating design companies include: Bytner Design, d'Avignon Interiors, Front Door Designs, The Parsonage, Plum Hollow Design Studio, Clarkston Flower Shoppe, Sue Thompson Interiors & Antiques, Lauren Brasile Interiors, KH Home, Donnah Miles Interiors,
Clever Closets and student teams from Wayne State University and Baker College.

As a new twist this year, each designer will incorporate an ecologically friendly element into their design and will include a
corresponding green statement for display.

Tickets for the September 23 Opening Night Benefit are $85.  General admission tour tickets cost $10 and are valid September 24
through October 2.  All tickets are available to purchase at many Clarkston businesses and through Clarkston SCAMP.
